Eden Had A Birthday!

I know I'm not caught up but I wanted to make sure that Eden's New England birthday was documented before it got lost in the "to do" posts. So this is how her birthday looked...

It started out with Maya making her breakfast....(Mickey Mouse and balloon pancakes). You don't understand what a miracle this was. It was ALL Maya's idea and she even got up extra early to do it before Eden woke up. Maya can be a little stingy when it comes to affection towards Eden so I was thrilled with this expression of love she came up with...all on her own!

It just happened to be the day that her Activity Day Girls group had scheduled an beach outing. I talked to her leaders and they kindly added a birthday element for Eden. She loved it!

For dinner she requested chicken pillows and after dinner she opened presents...notice the wrapping??? That is because we are on a strict budget and wrapping paper or cute bags just didn't make the cut.

We decided to forgo cake because the girls ate nothing but junk all day at the beach and we were going to celebrate with cake on Sunday with Aunt Carolyn and Roscoe.

She got some candy from C, some hair things from Maya, an outfit for her AG doll from me and Aric, some money from Papa Ron and some bedding from Abuelita and Papa Joe.

She was so happy. We told the girls that their birthdays were going to be very simple this year and Eden was completely okay with it. She told us that all she wanted to do for her birthday was to go into the city to get a treat from a bakery and that was it. No presents. I'm not even making that up, she truly said that. She is such a sweet kid! So on Saturday we went into the city...

Boston Common...Eden took some money out of her wallet to donate to the African American Revolutionary War Soldiers Foundation. Seriously, she has such a generous soul.

Beacon Hill...the kids loved the boot cleaners, especially this one since it looked like and "E"

I couldn't help myself, more doors and windows...

This door was for Camden. The "B" represents where Boys go who have Bad Behavior...

French Bakery on Charles Street....SOOO YUM!

Then we walked around and found this really cool, quiet neighborhood right in the middle of the busy city. These are some of the cool buildings we saw...

Sunday Aunt Carolyn and Roscoe came down. We went for a hike in the Blue Hills Reservation...

Camden loves Aunt Carolyn! He always wants to go to her house, ride in her car and if she's around I am chopped liver...in fact he got hurt right before I took this picture and insisted on getting comfort from her instead of me.

C thought he was so hilarious running around with his shorts all jacked up...

After the hike we headed back for some dinner and cake. We love it when we get to spend time with Aunt Carolyn and Roscoe!

Just in case I don't get around to making a birthday book for Eden, I want a record of how we celebrated her birthday.

Eden is a very tender hearted kid. She is also very smart...a little too smart. She has surprised me with how easily she has adapted to our new life. She can't get along with Camden to save her life but she is quick to forgive him when he goes to far. She still loves to hold my hand and snuggle me when ever I let her (I've been having personal space issues now that my kids are always within five feet of me). She is the first to point out when something isn't fair and will debate with you until the cows come home. I may have a future attorney on my hands...but what I love the most about Eden is that she is the first to give whatever she has whether it's money to a homeless person or for the tolls when I run out, or candy to her siblings. She doesn't even think twice about it and she doesn't do it for the praise, she does it because she wants to help and she feels good when she does it. I hope that lasts forever.

Happy Birthday to my Edee! Only one year left in single digits :(

Eden is an amazing young lady! I love that she has such a generous heart.

That is so lovely that Maya got up early to make the Mickey Mouse and balloon pancakes. (She did a great job! I can totally see them!

I have been blogging with you for a while now and have noticed how much Eden has grown. Her beautiful face is getting more and more mature. She is starting to like like young lady and not a little girl.

Does that offend you? I'm always sad when my kids grow...but I'm kind of a weirdo :)

That is neat that Camden loves Aunt Carolyn so much ☺.
