I Love My Sox...And Liz

I know I have professed my undying love for the Red Sox many times. It's been a long love affair. It takes a person of great compassion and a strong heart to be a fan. I was beyond excited to take in a game at Fenway with Aric...something I can now cross off my bucket list. The only thing that could have taken this experience over the top was to go with my AMAZING friend Liz and her husband Matt who now happens to be one of my amazing friends too:)

I do not even know how to describe this friendship and do it justice. Because truth be told, we found each other through blogging four and a half years ago. Over those four years we have both been through a lot we have found strength, support and laughs in each other that has bonded us forever. Strange as it sounds this dear friend and I had spent years communicating back and forth but had never met in person until this night. The stars were aligned and it was magical...

It was the perfect weather. You never know this time of year and in this part of the country but it was warm and lovely.

We had the best time watching the game and chatting about everything under the sun. Aric and Matt made friends with a bunch of single ladies behind us.

No pictures of the ladies they were flirting with but Matt did get a picture of this special fan...

And I had to get the Green Monstah...isn't she a beauty.

Aric and Matt were totally okay with me and Liz being on a date. They were awesome third and fourth wheels.

I told you the stars were aligned because my precious Sox even won the game!

This is what the subway looked like when we were trying to get on the train to get home. It was insanity!

Other than the crazy train ride home it was the best time.
(we got stuck on a train with some drunk Celtic fans, Aric was very kind to them...I was not)

Matt took this ridiculous picture of me and Liz after the game on the way to the train and it captures our lovefest perfectly.

It was such a bittersweet night, after all these years of being apart, I was so excited to finally be moving close to her (even if it was only going to be for a few months) but then fate would have it that she and Matt are moving to Utah and she left the week I got to Boston. It's heartbreaking but at least we get to enjoy Matt for a couple more months and maybe, just maybe we will be reunited this fall in Utah if all goes as we hope.

Good Bye Shock...Thanks for the memories

We only got to take in two Shock games this season before Aric had to leave. We went with the Youngs to the season opener...FUN TIMES. Cami and I didn't win dance for your dinner but we sure shook our money makers and had a blast doing it.

We decided to take the kids to the last game. We had so much fun! The best part was watching the kids...Camden especially LOVED it! Well this first picture doesn't represent his excitement but I still like it so I threw it in here...

Now this next picture shows how much fun he was having...

Being in the second row on the 25 yard line has been pretty much awesome. The players are really that close...like we can touch them when they fly out of bounds.

We loved being Shock fans. It was one of the funnest parts of living in Spokane. We got to share many games with many friends over the years and we will miss wearing our orange and blue.

Spring Soccer...Sorry but it has to be documented

Forgive me for all the back posting that is about to happen. For the love of posterity it has to be done...

We were blessed with decent weather for most of our games. What was insane was all the double headers, we had a couple Saturdays that we had FOUR games!

This was Eden's last season with her team...she played four years with Coach Chris. It was a great experience for her. Here are some of her highlights:

Team pictures and individual shots taken by yours truly. I volunteered to do them each season because I refused to pay for the cheesy, EXPENSIVE ones the association provided.

Action Shots

Fun With Her Buddies

End of Season Pizza Party

Eden really enjoyed this year and discovered that she liked playing goalie. I think this was her favorite season because she got to play with so many of her best buddies.

Maya's comeback was even more impressive Spring season...she was a force as defender and her foot work skills were awesome! She also had an awesome team and some great coaches. I don't have her team pictures because I didn't take them and they got put into storage..boo. So this is what I do have...

End of season dessert that almost got rained out...

Maya got the award for "Pullback Queen"

She was also lucky enough to be able to play with some of her best friends.
(Sadie, Elise and Elsa)

Coaches Mark and John

Soccer season is such a crazy time for us but we love it. I love watching the girls play. I love cheering them on. Maya especially became quite competitive this year, it was a side of her that we've never seen.  After every game she would tell us which girls on the other team made her mad and said all the things to us she wanted to say to them. It was hilarious. Hopefully we will find her a great soccer team wherever we land.

Good-bye Summer, Hello Fall…

IMG_0759

I still can’t believe summer is gone. Maybe it’s because summer really didn’t start here until the middle of July…can you say LAME-O!…

Even though I’m a little bit bitter about how few days I actually got to wear flip flops and t-shirts, I am still going to dedicate  this post to Summer 2010 and the fun times we had…

Grandma Kathy Chemo Visits

Chemo sucks and we hate that GK has to go through it, but we are grateful for the fun times that we get to have with her while she is here. One of our family’s favorite games is “Honkey Bonk”.

IMG_0709
It’s a game know by many names…President, Vice-Pres, etc…we made up our own version that requires silly hat wearing.

Our beloved Shock won the AFL2 Championship. It was an awesome season, we had a blast watching them play this year.

Our good friend Adam is the general manager and part owner of the team so he and Meg usually sit up in the owners box to watch the games. We talked them into watching a game with us down with all the crazies, it was awesome!

We also invited some new friends, Melissa and Kevin, to experience the awesomeness of the Shock. I still can’t believe their baby Jude slept through the loudness of the championship game!

We had our annual family get together. It was so full of fun that it will have it’s own post soon.

Bye Bye Blacky, Hello Silver Bullet
IMG_0452

Aric decided that it was time to get a truck to carry his massive amounts of carpet samples. It just so happened that our good buddy Ron was looking to sell his truck. So we hopped on a plane and went down to California to pick it up.

IMG_0701

Don’t worry this is not really his truck, we spotted it in a parking lot and we couldn’t help ourselves, we had to take a picture of it.

Meet Silver Bullet…

IMG_0691

The best part of the trip was spending time with our dear friends. Becky had baby Russell just six weeks before. Since she is a little blog challenged I will post these pictures on her behalf. I know there are a few readers that would want to see how darling these kiddos are growing up.

It was a very quick trip but we enjoyed every minute with them. Becky inspires me, she is an amazing mom and she is adjusting to number five beautifully.

I couldn’t leave California without a yummy In N Out Burger…

End of Summer Family Extravaganza!
IMG_0739

We usually say goodbye to summer by going to Silverwood. This year the weather did not cooperate on the days we could go, so we took the girls to another fun park that had an indoor pool instead.
We rock climbed, Maya is a natural, just like her mom;) I can’t wait to take her again!

IMG_0711 IMG_0714

Eden wasn’t quite as comfortable with this activity but she still made it to the top once.

IMG_0717

We got to play a round of miniature golf, Aric killed us all.

IMG_0728

I may not have won, but I had good form.
Aric also blew us away with his bowling skillz.

Again, good form but not good enough to beat Mr. Good at Everything.

IMG_0738

We had a great time with the girls. My sister was kind enough to take Mr. C so that we could actually focus on just these beauties.

IMG_0754

This summer flew by so fast. Every day was filled with good stuff. My days were mostly filled with keeping kids alive and well. I only had one tutoring student so I wasn’t too stressed with that. I tried to take the kids swimming twice a week so that we could soak up as much sun as possible. Most of those days I was annoyed with all the work it took, but looking back I am so glad I did it. Those hot days were few and we definitely enjoyed the heck out of them.

So hello, hello fall. I am trying to wrap my head around the fact that half of September is already over. Homework is here along with dance, piano, and soccer.

I can no longer be in denial about it being fall. I am heading to Utah next week for my annual women’s broadcast trip…(let me know if any of you want to play while I’m in town)…I will be meeting with the BYU and UVU buyers again, and maybe if  I brave I might even meet with the buyer at Utah State. My book has been consuming a ton of my time lately, I will write about that soon too.
So there you have it. My ridiculously long summer recap.
HOLA Y ADIOS!
