My Birthday and a Challenge

This is what I looked like the day I turned 37.

We woke up early to go to Maya's Cross Country meet.

The kids made me some very cute little homemade cards.

As soon as we got home I took off for a run. When I got home Aric had a treat waiting for me. From the first day I got here I wanted a cupcake from Konditor Meister, a famous bakery that happened to be down the road from us. So he got me a yummy chocolate cupcake.

I had a goal that I had set 100 days before my birthday...to read the Book of Mormon from beginning to end while journaling the entire experience. I never needed to be spiritually fed more than I did during this particular time in my life. I have always loved and appreciated having this book in my life. I have read it many times along with the Bible. This time I read it as a 100 day challenge that my friend, Melissa, had given me. She gave it to me back in January as a New Years resolution idea but it ended up being put in my night stand and I forgot about it until I was packing for Boston...five months later. I tossed it into my rubbermaid and thought maybe I would do it while I was in Boston. After a couple a few rough weeks I saw it in my bin and decided...What the heck? I was definitely inspired to bring it and it ended up being the most important thing I brought with me. You can download it here. You don't have to be a Mormon to get something out of it. It brought me closer to God and made me feel even a greater love and gratitude for Christ. The quotes and questions that go along with the reading are awesome. I was so proud of myself for doing it, it was the gift that kept on giving...

Yay for 100 days and year 37!

Way to go! I never finished this challenge. Glad someone did;) I always have the best advice for others but don't tend to follow it myself

Thank you for the link!! I want to read The Book of Mormon in 100 days, too.

I hope sweet Maya will feel some relief from her sadness soon. Bless her heart. It is great that she has you to help her through.

Sorry I have gotten so behind on commenting. I joined Facebook and love it and hate it at the same time. All of my self allotted computer time has been sucked up with the Facebook and I need to find balance. (I guess if that is one of my biggest challenges in life I am hugely blessed, huh? :)
