Fast forward almost ten years and I finally felt like it was time to give it another shot...this time the freezer recipe kind.
So I go me some fruit and decided to make a whole day of it.
It took about five hours and this was product of my efforts.
"Why did it take so long?" Some of you more experienced jammers may be asking yourself...well it's because I don't do seeds so I had to sieve them all out.
It was obnoxious but totally worth it!
(this picture was not staged, that jam fell out of my mouth and onto my foot)
I made raspberry peach, strawberry blueberry and raspberry vanilla. They turned out as yummy as they sound and I think I have officially jumped on the jam wagon. My girls even helped and they are going to make some to sell at the garage sale next year...yay for jam!

Oh and this is for Amy Samps...here is a picture of the girls modeling the darling sandals you got them for their birthdays. They love them and I wish they made them in my size! Thanks for sending some love their way...xoxo

k, so your kitchen didn't stay that clean did it? I bottled peaches one year. it wasn't pretty... maybe i'll jump on the jam wagon because it sounds so good. i love the picture:). it made me laugh.
The sandals are adorable. I hope they enjoy them, just tell Ede not to break her leg in those heels :)
And... Ooooh, I want to try making peach jam. I wonder if it's too late?
No, no, no! You have it all wrong. You are suppose to try to make a billion pints of freezer jam at once so your kitchen looks like something from CSI. Seedless freezer jam! you would be Trav' best friend. I just did strawberry because I don't have the patience to get all the seeds out.
Anyway maybe we could workout some kinda deal... I will build you cabinets or furniture or a treehouse or... and you supply my family with seedless jam. Good... DONE... now just move to Eugene so it can happen. Freezer jam doesn't travel well! :)
I love freezer jam, I made strawberry/lemon freezer jam to eat with croissants for Nate's deployment brunch. We also had G'ma Audrey's carmel rolls, kuchen, biscuits and gravy, bacon and mushroom fritatta with hollandaise sauce, bacon/swiss quiche, ham and sausage, cheesy hash brown casserole, fruit salad and strawberries and bananas with chocolate fondue. I didn't get any pictures of the food, but have a few of the people at the end of it all, when most of the 60+ had left. You can see my pictures on facebook. ;) Hi to Aric, hugs to the kids. We had an amazing time in Washington, too bad it is on the other side of the state from you.
I have been wanting to Jam too, the Funky Bunch tune at least let me Jam in one way. Those sandals are so.stinkin.adorable. Where did she get those?
I learned how to make freezer jam this year in RS. I have yet to do it on my own but I am going to try because I LOVE it. My sister, Jaime, is the same way you are, doesn't do seeds.
Does this mean I have to give sewing a try again? Because about 15 years ago I attempted to make some shorts and let's just say, I don't think I will ever be on Project Runway. The jam looks delicious!
I love the picture of you enjoying the jam!
I love freezer jam!! I can only imagine the heaven you are enjoying!
I keep saying that i am going to do jam, but each season i skip it. Last time i bottled jam was the summer I moved to Arizona. I got some fantastic berries from eastern washington already in the pulp form. It made it so fast and easy.
Um wow! First of all, I'm totally impressed with the cool pictures. I never think to take before pictures of anything. But fruit in bowls?! Very cool. Secondly, holy clean kitchen. Nice... Oh, and I'm totally wishing I had some of that yummy jam... I'm just sayin'.
i don't do seeds either! i've never jumped on or even sat in the jam wagon! i like things that don't take long to make! i know, my loss!!
You do it all, girl!
That jam looks so good!
