If finding the "best deals ever" were an Olympic sport I would totally win gold every time. The only people who could come close to my shopping skills are my mom and my mother-in-law. There is nothing like the rush of a great deal. Here is what would have won me some gold this week.
On Saturday we were on a mission. Soccer practice starts this week and we needed some new gear. So I grabbed the adds and found out that you could get name brand cleats, shin guards and a ball for $40. Not bad, so we go to the store get all the right sizes and bought the gear. As we were driving away I found another add that advertised the exact same stuff for only $30 ! So we drove half a mile and got the better deal, then went back and returned the other stuff.
Then I had to go to Kohls to return a way cute purse that I bought a month ago at a weak moment. I had noticed in the adds, that they had a very cool toaster on sale for forty bucks (reg. $60). I hadn't mentioned it to Aric because I know he thinks our nine year old, 2o dollar wedding gift toaster was just fine.
I hope these pictures adequately represent the nastiness that was our old toaster. I think I remember cleaning it once... maybe twice...okay just once.
So Aric stayed in the car with the girls hoping that my "return" would go quicker if I knew they were all in the hot car. Well I couldn't help myself and I ran over to the housewares department. And there she was, the display toaster, all alone. I asked the guy in the department if I could buy it and he said that it was no problem AND that he would even give me a 10% discount because it didn't have a box! So now I was feeling really good about my purchase. I go to the check out, make my return and due to some additional sale they had going on and some "Kohl bucks" I had earned, I ended up getting my toaster for....drum roll please...SEVENTEEN DOLLARS!
Pretty sweet huh. Now we just have to figure out how to work the darn thing without and owners manual!
Aric too was caught up in the spirit of good deals and found these socks for two bucks and this toiletry bag for five dollars.
I know that these purchases would even make our friend Ryan Romney, self proclaimed "cheapest guy ever", proud.
On Saturday we also let the girls get their haircut. They have been begging me for months to do this. I wanted to wait until right before school started but I couldn't take the begging anymore and gave in. So here are my little girlies before....
...During...
...And After...
Don't they look so grown up! I can't even stand it!

WOW! What a great deal! You are the quintessential (if that is how you spell it) bargain shopper. Where did you get the soccer stuff, cuz I'm a gonna need it. Cute hair cuts!
They look soooo darling! And I am going to come and try out that toaster... click on the link and you should be able to get an electronic version of your manual http://www.hamiltonbeach.com/use-and-care/use-and-care.php
We miss you guys but I am so happy to not be living in a pile of rubble for a few days :)
Chad doesn't understand my excitement over the great deals I find or how much money I'm saving....but you do, kind of a rush like you pulled the wool over their eyes...lol. Love the music, makes me laugh how you find the perfect ones to go with your blog. The girls hair is very cute.
Oooo...I do love a good bargain. A girl after my own heart:)! Cute hair cuts by the way!
P.S. The BIGGEST fight that Ryan and I ever got in was over a toaster. It was the fight where I ended up saying "I'm not mad. I am just hurt." Yep. It all started over the toaster:)! FUnny now. Not so funny then.
You know you got a good deal when you think to yourself, "This would make Ryan Romney proud."
Hey, I took Thomas to get his haircut at the same store (I remember those sails; the master cuts next to Albertson's right?). Thomas screamed the entire time. I'm glad your girls saved you such drama
Love their haircuts :) They are so, so cute!
I bow down to your Deal Finding prowess! Impressive!!
LOVED the toaster story. I totally appreciate great deals (almost as much as you) and yours kept getting better, and better.
I bet you could order an owner's manual for the toaster via the internet. (We had a similar situation with a bread machine.)
Have I already mentioned how adorable the girls look?
Love the bargains (remember my love of Craig) and love the haircuts. You know we had a hilarious haircut experience while we were in Utah...let's just say that I was so suspicious of the lady's ability to cut Milo's hair (while shaking uncontrollably, with her 3 inch fake nails, and while talking nonstop at 100 mph) that I seriously considered faking a "family emergency"-type call on my cellphone and yanking him out of the chair. Turned out great. Good thing that 99% of my worrying is for naught. HA! :)
I wish I wish I had the patience to bargain hunt. (My husband wishes too!) Good for you.
I'm a sucker over a good deal. Good job! And cute haircuts.
We are twins! I love a good bargain!!! My Hannah has been pestering me for weeks to get her hair chopped...I guess I will submit since your girls look so cute.
you rock! buuuutt i need help picking out maya's gift that you called me about...they have really really cute ones at the BYU bookstore and i'm pretty sure that's the only place you can get them, so i just need color direction. let me know!
Jessica! You and I would be great shoppers together! I love finding the deals. I just posted about my latest finds on my blog. Too bad we don't live up there anymore...we miss it though. I found your blog through Meghann's blog...Your girls are so cute. I love the cowgirl party...Brynley wants to be a cowgirl when she grows up. So cute...loved the cake and the cute invitations.
Thanks for being such a great friend when we lived up there...it was great to have someone so nice to hang out with...
