Red Cheeks

So this is what your kids cheeks look like after a scooter ride around the neighborhood with her dad.

And this is what your kids cheeks look like when they have "Fifth Disease", yup a disease. At least as far as diseases go, this one is not too bad to get.
Other than the fact that your cheeks get fire engine red and fire engine hot. Oh and you are totally contagious the day before you get the rash, so you expose every kid you breathe on at school. Not to mention it is not a good thing at all for pregnant women to get unless they've had it before. That brings up another positive thing about getting it as a kid...you can get exposed to it when you are a pregnant grown up and it won't be bad for you. Luckily your fever is only like 99 degrees and after two days its gone along with your "looks-like-your-momma-slapped-you-good" red cheeks. Just in time for the red lacey rash to show up on the rest of your body. It's not supposed to be bothersome just unsightly....We'll see...

Oh dear! I was so sorry to hear about Maya's disease :) That is no fun for any of you, but I am very curious to see the "lacey" rash in real life. It gives me the shivers just thinking about it. Even with red cheeks, they are both still as beautiful as ever.

If it makes you feel any better, they sure have cute cheeks! Hope it runs its course quickly.

Maya just looks like she too has been on a bike ride around the neighborhood. Or that she has gotten into your blush. I think one of my kids had that when they were little. Who knows which one- when you have 4, all their various sicknesses start to blur together! :) Hope she's better soon! She still looks adorable.

I love Eden's second pose. That girl is hilarious. Poor Maya- she'll fit right in since now it's summer and everyone else is flushed all the time.

You sure you aren't slapping her cheeks?

Ah, I kid. Really, I do.

You should stop slapping her, some kids are just happy and you don't need to be angry about it! HEHEH

John had it... I swear he got everything the year I had to put him in daycare... those places are giant petri dishes...

anyway, as you said, this one is no biggie and will run its course quickly - hope she can still get out tomorrow to enjoy the sun!

don't you love how they are contagious BEFORE they even have symptoms and BEFORE you are even aware that they have a "disease"? when nani came down with strep and scarlet fever last week, she had exposed all of her friends before she even knew she was sick! then you have to call the school and tell them that if any other kids come down with the same thing, it is your kids fault!

hopefully it will go away quickly and your life can get back to normal!

your girls are absolutely adorable!

So not fun...yet so cute. Reminds me of baby cheeks when you take them outside in the winter! :)

Maya would still look cute if she had leprosy. I'm glad it's a virus that brings no pain, she's too cute.

heh, heh, heh, "Your-momma-slapped-you-good" red cheeks!

Those girls are so beautiful! Even with a disease...that is a true sign of beauty! ;) The word disease sounds so scary! I agree, if you have to have a disease this would be the way to go!
