Soccer Update

Remember this blog has to contain things of interest to my posterity and so the soccer updates must be included.

Our Saturday started with a 9 am game...can you say freezing!  No picture of me braving the cold in my winter boots and  two layers of long sleeve shirts underneath my down coat. I also sported a knit cap and gloves while snuggled up in my warm blanket under my giant beach umbrella.  All so I could watch may girls play soccer.  Highlights of Maya's game.

This is Maya's  first year playing with goalies.  She isn't that aggressive so she doesn't score very many goals.  She is definitely a defensive kind of girl.  She takes protecting her goal very seriously.   She is awesome at it.

Then at our 11 am game the weather cooperated a little bit better. No rain but still quite chilly. I stayed cozy warm in my aforementioned get up minus the umbrella this time.  It was worth every shiver to watch Eden score SIX goals!

The beginning of the game she wasn't challenging the ball at all.  She was an observer on the field.  We gave her a pep talk (Aric said she could eat unless she scored a goal...I joke) And then that kid was on fire! She couldn't be stopped.

Here's a couple of the goals.

Here she is all over that ball.

And she breaks away...

Her coach congratulating her.

She is very modest about her goals.  She gets a little embarrassed by all the fans screaming for her.

YAY! Eden finally gets the game...it only took half the season but that's okay!  We are so excited for her!

And yes there are way more pictures of Eden because I was freezing at Maya's game.  I'll be better this week about being more equal.

Maybe I will threaten Katelyn with having to eat MORE food (since that would be a punishment for her) to get her to challenge the ball. She just likes to run up and down the field. Let's hope for warmer less wet weather this Saturday!

I thought I was the only one that worried about COMPLETE equal-ness when it comes to posting about the kids! :)

Seriously- I worry...

I just love the whole soccer experience with kids...except for the COLD.

What good little players you have.

We had our first freezing soccer game last Saturday. I was a really bad mom and forgot to put long sleeves on Maren. Not good.

I have been trying to leave a message but it hasn't worked...but I just wanted to tell you that we have now been in two places at the same time and not known. I read about your great weekend to RS Conference and I laughed that you were at door 7 a little late, too. I was at door 7 as well. Too bad we didn't run into eachother :) Glad you enjoyed it though.

I want to see a picture of you all decked out in your soccer, "get-up"! I betcha you look cute!

Yay for your girls. Those are some great pictures! I love that Maya loves to be goalie. I was always to chicken to do that. Look at Eden go!!! I love the action shot of her going after the ball before the break away. Both girls are going to love looking back on these!

Jack finds joy in running up and down the field, "staying" with the ball as I call it . . . but not really doing anything.

Anyway! I am so thrilled for Eden. It must have clicked all of a sudden, inside that cute head of hers. :)
