Friday the girls had their class parties. I had to plan Maya's so I had to go to hers first to get it off and running...
Then I went to Eden's to party kindergarten style.
Normally I make V-day special by making heart shaped muffins for breakfast, heart shaped sandwiches etc....see last years post.
But this year was pretty lame. I started getting a sore throat the night of our party. By Saturday morning I couldn't swallow and my body ached and my eyes watered. I slept in until 9am. The girls actually waited for me to get up before opening their V-day pouches. I didn't get a picture of the pouch emptying but here is a picture of Eden enjoying one of her v-day treasures...
And here are the fun valentines...we are all about homemade.
Here are two of my favorite valentines...
(Maya made this one for Aric from Camden)
(Eden made this one for Camden, they are sitting on the couch with two pillows)
But my favorite valentine was this one:
Aric wrote me a love letter, I'll treasure it always.
After the pouch opening I laid on the couch and watched the girls play High School Musical Sing Star for two hours.
Once drugged up, my throat felt a little better so I sang two songs and earned Eden the party dress for Sharpay that she had been trying so hard to get.
After I scored the dress for her I went back to my bed and then didn't emerge until 5pm. I seriously slept almost the whole time. I felt so much better after that.
Aric made a yummy V-day dinner. Stroganoff made with steak that melts in your mouth, bread sticks and salad that we ate in our heart bowls.
Like I said before a very lame V-day but Maya got her wish, which was to play in her jammies all day. Just for the fun of it I stayed in my pj's all day too (notice how lovely I am in the above picture). Thank goodness we celebrated on Friday too. Here are some V-day pics...
My semi-sweet girls:
My super sweet boy:
That outfit is seriously the cutest and I have to thank my friend Becky Fry for sending it for Camden. It fit him perfectly!
So that's what our Valentine's Day looked like this year. Not a lot of excitement, but a whole lota LOVE.

I LOVE the "hunk of burning love" shirt, that is so cute.
Sorry you were sick, kind of takes all the fun out of it. Sounds like you still did some cute things for the kids, way to go.
I love looking at your blog! You totally know how to celebrate! Andrea got sick on V-day too:-( I love the valentine clothes your all your kids have. They look so cute!
Okay, the, "semi-sweet" shirts on the girls and that adorable, "hunk'-a-burnin' love" shirt on Camden are to DIE for!!! Oh, I cannot handle it!
I love that Aric gave you a love letter. That is my favorite kind of Valentine's gift. Even better than chocolate ;)
love the semi sweet.
lilli needs one.
Love the shirts! Sorry you were sick...glad Aric took good care of you. Don't you love having a boy? It has been different for me. I love my girls but I just eat my boy for breakfast everyday. He is just so cuddly.
L.O.V.E. is all you need.
Bonus?... PJ's all day! - Sorry about the sicknesses though :(
Where did you get those shirts for your girls? SO cute! And Camden's shirt is quite appropriate. Our Valentine's evening was spent watching the All-Star Dunk contest. Yeah, it was hot.
That picture of Camden is SO cute. Seriously. SO CUTE.
Glad you're feeling better and I like that your V-day pics were color-appropriate for the holiday! Nice job. ;)
I want to squish Camden's cute little chubby cheeks!!!
The shirt is very appropriate. :)
Sorry you were sick. :(
Oh I hope you are feeling better! I think staying in bed all day IS a great way to celebrate! Yummy dinner and so much fun! Happy V day!
Happy Valentine's Day Jess. Sorry you got sick. I love you guys. See you soon. xoxoxo
I love those t-shirts. I spent my Valentines Day taking care of 5 sick children and a sick husband :(
The "hunk a burnin love" shirt is awesome! He is adorable.
As soon as I saw the t-shirt I thought of Aric and all of his great tees and decided "like father, like son". Glad it worked out for Valentine's Day. Camden is a hunk!
