Heel Highs

That's what Eden calls my high heels... For as long as I can remember I have had an obsession with shoes. I loved colored shoes, not black, white or brown... When I was a little girl I loved wearing my mom or my grandma's high heels. Whenever I we went to my grandma's I headed straight for her closet and found some sassy "zapatos" with a purse to match. My abuelita didn't have much but she always had great shoes. So there you have it, it's hereditary, thank you very much!

Which means I'm not one bit surprised that Edee loves shoes. One of her favorite past times is sneaking into my closet and trying on my shoes...the colored ones of course! It sounds like a heard of elephants upstairs as she walks across my bathroom floor.
So this is where I found Eden yesterday afternoon...in my closet.

Trying on my shoes...

She always says " K mom, don't look! Close your eyes and don't peek...ta da!" "I say "Oh Edee, you look so awesome!" After a few passes she says "Okay just one more, mom." Which usually means like five more...
She will usually strut around doing a few passes and say "I love these ones mom, these are my favorite!" I swear one of these days she's going to break her ankle....or my shoes.

When she put these on she said "Do I look like I'm seven?" thinking seven is so grown up.... I say "Uh...more look more like twenty-seven." she says "Nah, I think I look like I'm seven."

So there you have it, my shoe obsessed four and a half year old...(going on seven). I have to admit that it makes me smile and I can't help myself when I find fabulous, funky shoes that fit her. She has at least twice as many shoes as Maya. But Maya could care less....as long as she has her tennis shoes and fake croc's she's happy as can be. Which makes it even more fun for me to indulge Eden's love for shoes. The apple didn't fall too far from the tree here, now did it.

Go GIRL! You have a rockin shoe collection! Yeah, you have passed it on to another generation. I am sure that my love of steak knives will be passed on to yet ANOTHER generation too. (Did you see that post? )

That is so sweet! I think I want to come over for a play date with Eden. Those strappy green sandals are perfect for a dress I just got! Ask her when I can come and play.

She's my kinda girl! Did you get those red peep toe heels at Macy's? I think I tried those on last week. Love the boots too and the green ones, hey, I just like 'em all! Right now I'm on the hunt for some animal print flats.

Awwww! So fun to read! She is so cute! I love how it is hereditary and how you did the same thing when you were young.

Oh, my yes...she does look seven! Will you tell her I said so! :)

You DO have cute shoes. I want to come over and play with Edee. My shoe collection is woefully brown or black.

Thanks for helping SO much last night. You were such a lifesaver with all of the girls. Sorry I had to bail early but Thomas was just not having ANY of it any longer.

I'd be all over those shoes if I were her too! They are so cute. Love the red peep toe ones.

Does Leah have a blog? I would love to say hi. It's been forever, I'm wondering if she even would remember me.

It must be a second-child thing! I am equally obsessed. Oh my goodness, I can't believe how big Edee is.

That is SO cute. She and Issy should have a shoe parade. I am muy jealous of all of your colored shoes. My love of colored shoes has to be focused on work shoes. I have Danskos (nurse shoes! ha!) in 5 different colors. :)

She for sure looks like she's seven. ;) Issy's "grown-up age" is six. Arent' they funny?

I never forsake fashion for comfort when it comes to shoes--high heels at least. I'm always telling my young women to wear cute shoes, it will take them far in life. It also drives me crazy seeing cute women at church wearing frumpy shoes. Pet peeve numero uno.

Can I have some of yours? The red ones especially. I'm a 9 1/2. (huge, i know.)
